Cheap Eats: Fusion Korea

Try a sizzling hot dolsot bibimbap!

Pay no mind to the “fusion” in Fusion Korea. It refers only to the Western silverware and a lonely hamburger and fries on the menu. It’s the “dolsot” in the dolsot bibimbap that sizzles ($8.99). This lava-hot stone crock comes lined and packed with crackling rice—a bowl within a bowl filled with fluffy rice and topped with vibrant crisp veggies, your choice of meat, and a raw egg.

And there’s more. Galbi: shaved racks of marinated short ribs grilled to a flavorful chew ($8.99–$10.99). Also try the satisfying sweet-and-sour, spicy-as-you-dare soft tofu soup, served with vegetables or threaded with pork, beef, or pot stickers—all for $7.

Snacks: The inside-out Korean veggie roll ($2) is a great to-go treat.
Salad: Meals include an all-you-want salad bar of baby greens and kimchi, making the hot stone dolsot a rock-bottom deal.
Smiles: Run by a hard-working family that extends humble gratitude to each and every customer, this restaurant is one you’ll want to see succeed—while remaining your own special secret.
