Lisa Kolarich is a country singer who lives in Walnut Creek. But not
for long. This month, the 20-year-old Ygnacio Valley High grad packs
her bags for the Hollywood of country music: Nashville, Tennessee,
where she’s lined up to work with several songwriters to record a batch
of new tunes.Kolarich has played concerts at many local venues, including Joe’s Lounge in Lafayette, Fremont’s Saddle Rack, and the Alameda County Fair. Her East Bay send-off show is set for April 29 at the Del Valle Theatre in Walnut Creek. After that, she heads to Nashville, where she’ll also be putting together a new road band for a tour.
Kolarich is ready to earn her place in showbiz. “I like the idea of getting out there and working hard to get somewhere,” she says. “I don’t want to be one of those American Idol people who think they can make it by just being on a TV show.”
