Do-it-Yourself Cookbook
Recipe Books, iTunes-style

Even your favorite sauce-splattered cookbook probably contains a few recipes you’re not so crazy about. TasteBook, an online recipe resource headquartered in Berkeley, lets you customize your own cookbook so every recipe is a hit.
Think of it as iTunes for recipes: TasteBook lets you search and select from among 100,000 recipes from lifestyle magazines and popular websites such as Food Network, Cooking Light, and Food & Wine. You drag and drop these recipes into your online recipe collection, which you can use to create a customized TasteBook. Wrap it all up by choosing a cover photo and adding a title, such as Jackie’s College Cookbook: Recipes collected by Aunt Jo and Cousin Sara.
“Recipes are much more than a list of ingredients—they are memories of summer barbecues, family traditions, and personal milestones,” says TasteBook founder Kamran Mohsenin, cofounder of Ofoto (now the Kodak Gallery). “Giving TasteBook as a gift is like cooking someone a home-cooked meal—totally personal and totally memorable.”
TasteBooks start at $19.95, with each expandable hardcover cookbook holding up to 100 recipes. Go to tastebook.com to start organizing your online recipes, create personal cookbooks, or share favorite recipes with friends.
