Lotion Commotion

Danville mom Laura Albin created two alter egos to help sell her Chloe and Jane skincare products.

Chloe is a shop ‘til she drops spa junkie who loves getting a pedicure while dishing about Brangelina. Her friend Jane is terrified of mud baths and buys shampoo in bulk when it’s on sale at Target. Wonder why they get along so well? Because they’re the same person—Danville mom Laura Albin.

Albin’s alter egos make small talk and gossip on the packaging of her Chloe and Jane skincare products. Albin, who claims to be more Jane than Chloe, created the business with her friend Wendy Viscuglia, after Viscuglia made a killer sugar scrub for a Christmas present that was better than any product Albin had come across in stores.

Chloe and Jane products are made in the United States, with all-natural ingredients packaged in recyclable materials. The line includes body butter, sugar polish, lotion, body wash, and hand soap in subtle fragrances such as lavender sage and citrus chamomille. And, though Albin created Chloe and Jane with plain Janes like herself in mind, the products are sexy enough for Gossip Girl’s Jessica Szohr and Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosia to enjoy.

Chloe and Jane products are available at Sage in Alamo and Flaunt in Danville, and at chloeandjane.com.
