It’s hard to top the experience of roasting marshmallows over a campfire, then biting into the gooey, sweet mess of a s’more. But, gourmet chocolatier Michael Recchiuti gives it a shot with his obscenely yummy new S’mores Kit.
Packaged so nicely you’ll want to keep the box, the kit contains eight handmade vanilla bean marshmallows, eight dense graham crackers glistening with sugar dust, and one bittersweet bar of Recchiuti’s famed chocolate. Arrange the s’mores open-faced or sandwiched on a cookie sheet, and bake until the marshmallows caramelize. Bite into one, and the chocolate oozes out—the intense 85-percent cacao balanced by the supersweet marshmallow. The graham cracker is like a crisp homemade cookie and doesn’t crumble like the Honey Maid variety.
The kit makes for a unique holiday gift or a new family tradition. Just be sure to have glasses of milk, as well as napkins, nearby. These s’mores are even messier and stickier than the original.
