Sometimes, 140 characters are all you need to work up an appetite. Check out how some East Bay restaurants are using Twitter to spread the word about their daily specials, new menus, and even the occasional freebie.
@Amberbistro Danville’s Amber Bistro tweets specials, such as half-price Wednesdays, and offers, such as buy one, get one free if you mention Twitter. @Blushdublin Followers are kept up-to-date on the flavor of the month at this organic frozen yogurt shop in Dublin.
@Bridgesdanville Danville’s classic Bridges tweets contests for gift certificates and highlights specials. @Cheeseboard Pizza lovers can follow these tweets to find out what is on Cheeseboard Pizza’s daily pie. (Today’s slice: fresh corn, onions, pasilla chili, mozzarella, olive oil, cilantro, and key limes.)
@GirasoleGrill This Italian restaurant in Pleasanton tweets about happy hour specials and lots of contests. @Henrysberkeley This Berkeley food pub offers exclusive deals for its Twitter followers, like a free draft beer with any starter or gratis sweet potato fries with the purchase of a specialty cocktail.
@Olivetojournal Beloved Oliveto restaurant in Rockridge posts blurbs on menu items as well as tasty links and videos for its foodie followers. @PiattiDanville Piatti keeps its customers up-to-date by tweeting changes to its seasonal menu.
@PyramidWalnutCr and @PyramidBerkeley Bring in a print-out of this brewery’s tweets, and you can get deals such as free appetizers and reduced-price pints, pitchers, and cases.
