Meals on Wheels

On November 9, eat some great food for a great cause.

Bay Area chapters of Meals on Wheels have partnered with some of the most beloved dining spots in the region for an all-day fundraiser. More than 100 restaurants will participate in Dine Out for Meals on Wheels, including cozy Casa Orinda, elegant Sasa in Walnut Creek, and the comfy Peasant’s Courtyard in Alamo.

Ten percent of proceeds will go to Meals on Wheels, which feeds homebound seniors in seven Bay Area counties. In Contra Costa, about 1,270 seniors receive meals each day, delivered piping hot by Meals on Wheels. But the organization faces reductions in federal and city grants.

So, save the date, and eat with friends or family.

Participating restaurants include: Amici’s East Coast Pizzeria (Danville), Casa Orinda (Orinda), Chevalier (Lafayette), Fiore (Concord), Katy’s Korner (San Ramon), Katy’s Kreek (Walnut Creek), Lark Creek Walnut Creek (Walnut Creek), Monsoon Masala (Pleasant Hill), the Peasant’s Courtyard (Alamo), Piatti (Danville), Sasa (Walnut Creek), and Yankee Pier (Lafayette)
