Tails will wag for this boutique hotel and daycare center. The Tail Haven is the brainchild of Emily Ronnow, a third generation business owner in Lafayette. It started when Emily would take her two pups, Chance and Rhodi, for hikes in the East Bay. Fellow hikers would stop and comment on how Emily’s dogs were so well behaved, and ask who trained them. “I did,” says Emily. “And then I realized how in-demand dog training was in the area.” Emily’s concept
of a training center has since evolved into more of a “home away from home” for dogs—from overnight boarding
and day lounging to doggie day camps and private training sessions. Emily also works with several local rescues, volunteers her time to families looking to adopt, and fosters four to five dogs at a time. One could say that The Tail Haven goes the whole canine yards.
