“Jewelry is often a symbol of a connection between people and their loved ones,” says Wensing, 38. “People like to talk to each other about their jewelry—and they love to talk about their pets.”
The company’s first three lines—Ashley’s Signature, Amanda, and Seger—are named after Wensing’s animal friends, including Ashley, her 17-year-old tabby cat. All designs feature a stylized paw print in gold or silver; the pet version is a charm that clips onto a cat’s or dog’s collar. A portion of Ashley & Co.’s proceeds goes to nonprofit organizations supporting needy or homeless animals.
