Meet Up: The Ball Game

Find the person rooting for your team at Stadium Pub or Masses in Walnut Creek, or the Hopyard in San Ramon or Pleasanton.

3. Jill Riter

Moraga • 52
Senior product manager.
On Saturday night, you’ll find me: Hosting a murder mystery party at my house, at dinner with friends, or doing something benefiting charity. I can be happy staying home if there is a good bottle of wine, a fire, a movie, and someone who wants to hold my hand.
In a man, I like: Someone who has long-term friends that he can go off with and do whatever guys like to do, and be happy to come home to me. I’ll need some girlfriend time away, too.
My weakness: A man wearing a crisp, long-sleeved tailored shirt.

The Rules

Do go with the classics. No one is going to turn down Ghirardelli chocolates. Don’t take your valentine to a sports or dive bar.

4. Joey Haynes

Fairfield • 35
Air Force pilot.
Craziest thing I’ve done for love: I once entered a dance contest in an attempt to get closer with a girl ... the funny thing is, we got second place. I think it’s because most of the other guys who entered had the same idea as me.
My guilty pleasure: The game Candy Crush Saga—there, I said it.
In the future, I want: All-around blissful happiness, including a happy, healthy family. Oh, and world peace.

Craziest thing I’ve done for love: I had a bobblehead made in the likeness of a guy I was dating for his birthday. Turns out, he ended up liking the bobblehead better than me, and took his little mini-me with him to many fun and exotic places. … I saw the pics on Facebook.
