I’m in the middle of the San Francisco Bay, and I’m eating dim sum. Quick, where am I?
Okay, maybe Hong Kong East Ocean is not in the middle of the Bay, but you’ll definitely love the waterfront view there. The Chinese restaurant, specializing in dim sum, is on Powell Street in Emeryville, where it pokes out into the Bay like a finger.
This month, for Chinese New Year, meet a group of friends at one of its large tables, and enjoy the lazy Susan as it makes its rounds loaded up with your favorite dim sum. We strongly recommend the meaty pork siu mai and the shrimp har gow dumplings in their delicate, translucent wrappers.
