Celebrate Bastille Day at Chevalier Restaurant
Enjoy authentic French cuisine this Bastille Day.
Typically closed on Mondays, Lafayette’s Chevalier Restaurant will open its doors on Monday, July 14, for Bastille Day, the annual celebration of French independence.
As one of the few authentic French restaurants in the East Bay, Chevalier is pulling out all the corks in honor of the French peasants who stormed the Bastille, Paris’ infamous prison.
“Bastille Day is becoming increasingly popular among Bay Area residents,” says Philippe Chevalier, the restaurant’s chef and owner. “What better way to celebrate your country’s independence than with family and friends?”
Listen to live jazz on the outdoor patio, and indulge in classic French dishes, or the evening’s specialty—a spit-roasted pig outside in the garden, for $38. Don’t be surprised by a tableside visit from the charming chef, as Chevalier frequently greets diners with a warm welcome.
The restaurant will be open for the très bon celebration between 5 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. 960 Moraga Rd., Lafayette, (925) 385-0793, chevalierrestaurant.com.
