7/15–7/24 Formerly dubbed Festival del Sole, this annual 10-day food, wine, and music event takes place all over Napa Valley, with concerts and dinners at Auberge du Soleil, Castello di Amorosa, and Meadowood Napa Valley. festivalnapavalley.org.

Persuasion

Livermore Shakespeare Festival kicks off its summer season at Wente Vineyards with an adaptation of Jane Austen’s Persuasion. The story follows a woman who rediscovers her love for a captain in the Royal Navy seven years after their broken engagement. livermoreshakes.org.

Twenty One Pilots

Two years ago, at age 14, she wowed the X Factor judges with her rendition of “Fallin’, ” by Alicia Keys. By the Numbers Chevron Family Theatre Festival

On July 16, the 10th annual Chevron Family Theatre Festival takes over Walnut Creek’s Lesher Center for the Arts, for a day of dance, music, and other revelry. Check out the numbers below to learn why you should attend.

1. Number of Sesame Street stars (Pleasant Hill–raised Leslie Carrara-Rudolph, aka Abby Cadabby) who have performed at the fest in years past.

5. Number of Star Wars characters that will appear this year.

6–8. Number of minutes needed for Artrageous, performing this year, to create a painting onstage while dancers and musicians entertain the crowd.

2,300 Free puppets given to children this year.

50,000+ Attendees since the first fest in 2006.
