Cheap Eats: Slow G’s Eatery
Grab a healthy sandwich for lunch!
Chris K. // Yelp.com
Lean meats and fresh ingredients make Slow G’s a good down-to-earth lunch spot for the health-conscious diner.
The specialty sandwiches, all $6.99, are made on house-made rolls that are soft and crunchy in all the right places. We like the torta, made with your choice of sliced pork loin or roast beef on a fresh ciabatta roll. The avocado, black bean spread, and lime sauce give a flavorful nod to this sandwich’s Mexican roots, but the lean meat, lettuce, and tomatoes keep things light and fresh.
Other favorites include Slow G’s healthy take on a BLT, with lean pork instead of bacon, and the wasabi edamame chicken sandwich.
Combo Deal: The half-sandwich, half-salad combo ($7.99) is a complete, and reasonable, meal. Try the quinoa salad made with beets, shredded carrots, sliced almonds, a drizzle of balsamic vinegar, and house-made edamame pesto.
DIY: Not interested in a signature creation? Choose between three meats, eight spreads, and fresh veggies for a do-it-yourself sandwich ($6.99).
Go Low Carb: While the specialty sandwiches feature weighty rolls, lighter breads are available, including sliced multigrain and gluten free.
