Why go? This small café is all about small burgers, from classic Angus beef with cheese to pulled pork with coleslaw.
What’s the vibe like? A super friendly staff and cozy antiques on display make up for thick plastic “cloths” over wooden tables.
What to order? The chicken fajita slider is unique and satisfying, with a ground chicken patty, grilled peppers and onions, and cool slices of avocado. The house-made sausage in the andouille slider, paired with Sriracha mayo, is a firework of flavor. Vegetarians: Don’t miss the portobello mushroom slider.
Added bonus: Sides include crisp shoestring or sweet potato fries, traditional macaroni salad, and a deeply flavorful and chunky house-made chili con carne.
How much? Opt for a combo: one ($5.99), two ($8.29), or three ($10.99) sliders with a side and a drink.
Where is it? 978 Murrieta Blvd., Livermore, (925) 371-1700, slidercityburgers.com. Lunch and dinner Tues.–Sat.
