We know you have March 9 circled in red on your calendar. Here’s what to expect when Neiman Marcus opens its doors in Walnut Creek.
Designer handbags and jewels:
Level one will offer plenty of precious jewels and a top-shelf line of designers, including Dominique Cohen, Mizuki, Devon Leigh, and Jose and Maria Barrera. As for bags: Chanel, Gucci, and Balenciaga.
The first floor’s complete Man’s Store offers shoes, furnishings, sportswear, and clothing. If, by chance, a husband finishes shopping before his wife, he can wait in a lounge with comfy chairs watching sports on flat-screen TVs.
Ladies’ shoes will showcase an all-star lineup of designers (Christian Louboutin, Chanel, Prada, Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik), with fabulous rising stars (Charlotte Olympia, Brunello Cucinelli) also available.
Former CEO Stanley Marcus’ love of fine art will be evident both inside and outside the store. Various Bay Area artists have been commissioned to create original pieces for the Walnut Creek store.
You know you’re in a luxury store when there’s a house brand of cashmere. Designers Chanel, Brunello Cucinelli, Jil Sander, Michael Kors, and Stella McCartney are all available in the Ready to Wear department, while the On the Go collection of activewear features Adidas by Stella McCartney, Enza Costa, Seaton, Soft Joie, Whetherly, and Zobha designs.
Let’s do lunch:
Stop by the NM Café on the second floor for lunch any day, or dinner on Friday and Saturday, and brunch on Sunday. Make sure to try a signature popover or the Walnut Creek Bar packed with walnuts and chocolate chips, created just for the new store. Or grab something from the selection of on-the-go healthy items so you won’t waste time eating when you could be shopping.
Save the date:
The black-tie grand opening gala on March 8 benefits the Diablo Regional Arts Association, Junior League of Oakland-East Bay, Monument Crisis Center, and Taylor Family Foundation.
