Pet Madness 2014: Vote
Spencer, our Pet Madness 2014 winner
Congratulations to Spencer, a 13-year-old Maine Coon rescue, who won this year's Pet Madness contest! Spencer's owner, Debbie Suslow of Pleasant Hill, is headed to Jack's Restaurant and Bar on us. Here's what Debbie had to say about Spencer:
"He is certainly the most affectionate and gentle cat I have ever known. He greets me at the door every day and purrs as he gently rubs his head against my hands. He loves attention and loves to be petted. As a foster/volunteer for Maine Coon Adoptions, I have cared for many cats and kittens at my house as they were waiting for their "furever" homes. When 13-year-old Spencer first came to me as a foster, I knew it was going to be difficult to find a home for him. But the more I saw of his gentle, mellow demeanor, I thought, "It's going to be hard to let this one go." In true Maine Coon form, Spencer became my constant, but unobtrusive, companion. When I discovered that he liked to jump up on the bed with me at night and place his little head on the pillow next to mine, I fell totally in love and decided to adopt him. Maine Coon cats are known for being gentle, mellow, and for loving to be with people, and Spencer lives up to those traits by 1,000 percent. He has touched my heart and is the best pet I have ever had."
This year's runner-up was Stevie Ray, a rescued Boston Terrier with a heart of gold. He lives in Walnut Creek with his owner Caroline Avedian.
Thank you to everyone who entered their pets into the contest, and to those of you who voted. Until next year ...
