Bad Taste in a Good Way

Published:

Think Betty Crocker channeling her inner “bee-yotch,” and you have the catty formula for That’s Queen Bitch to You!, a raunchy new rib-tickler from Berkeley’s Ten Speed Press. Surprisingly, the mini volume was born of two male authors, Ed Polish and Darren Wotz, who follow up their 2004 debut, You Say I’m a Bitch Like It’s a Bad Thing, in similarly smart-assed style.

Using images of happy housewives and genteel grandmothers from American ads of yesteryear, Polish and Wotz caption each Norman Rockwellian image with dysfunctional sass and double entendres such as “Damn right, I’m good in bed—I can sleep for days,” “My mother doesn’t just enjoy guilt trips, she runs the travel agency,” “Remember: The better you do, the more they expect,” and “I’ll have a café-mocha-vodka-valium-latte to go please.” Visit www.tenspeedpress.com.
