Cheap Eats: Kevin’s Noodle House

With lightning-fast service and an upbeat vibe, Kevin’s Noodle House is perfect for a quick lunch or leisurely dinner. Fresh spring rolls ($5.25) and tasty fried fish cakes ($5.95) are good bets from the appetizer list. We like most everything on the menu, from traditional pho to combination rice plates. On our last visit, we enjoyed the hearty chicken and shrimp soup ($6.95 for medium), with a heaping portion of rice noodles and loads of chicken. (We just wish it came with a bit more shrimp.)
Late Lunch: The lunch rush is slightly later than usual. Be prepared for crowds from 1 to 2 p.m.
Three Sizes Fit All: Most noodle soups come in three variations—small, medium, or large—with the medium offering ample food for lunch.
Drink Up: Have you ever tried salted plum soda or young coconut juice? Yum. And don’t miss the specialty shakes. We loved the mocha shake with tapioca pearls, similar in taste to bubble tea.
