Why Come? This is a cozy Thai restaurant that can’t be beat for an affordable treat.
What’s the atmosphere like? Mango- and curry-colored walls with striking art of lotus flowers set a calm tone in this often-packed, 10-table dining room.
What to order? We love the silky curry dishes, particularly the kabocha pumpkin (best with tofu) and the chewy, sweetly perfumed spicy basil stir-fry. The lunch appetizer combo is a good deal, but at dinner, skip the starter and add sweet prawns to your dish, or get the bountiful lemongrass seafood chef’s special.
How much? Most lunch dishes are $8.95; dinner averages $12.
When is it open? Lunch and dinner Tues.–Sun.
Where is it? 115 Hartz Ave., Danville, (925) 743-8424, lotusthaidanville.com.
