Celebrity chef Masaharu Morimoto was onto something, with the opening of his eponymous restaurant in Napa’s Riverfront district. The town has been hopping with new prime-time culinary neighbors, a public art walk, and a gem of a concert venue. Here’s a look at the hottest happenings in Napa.

The aforementioned Morimoto, best known from TV’s Iron Chef, opened his first West Coast restaurant in July. The ultramodern Morimoto Napa features the chef’s acclaimed Japanese fusion cuisine as well as his signature beer and sake. morimotonapa.com.

Mill Valley–based celeb chef Tyler Florence (of San Francisco’s upscale Wayfare Tavern) was hush-hush on details about Rotisserie & Wine right up until opening day. What we do know? Think backyard barbecue: picnic-style reclaimed wood tables, and an open kitchen with two rotisseries.

The folks behind Lafayette’s Yankee Pier and Lark Creek Walnut Creek opened Fish Story, a sustainable seafood eatery. The draws? An octopus fountain designed as a nod to the Beatles’ tune “Octopus’s Garden,” a see-through glass kitchen, and Maine lobster plucked right from the in-house saltwater tank. fishstorynapa.com.

The Brothers Jacinto (Erasto from Mustards Grill and Pablo from Tra Vigne) have teamed up with Catherine Bergen (Made in Napa Valley products) to open taqueria C Casa, bringing gourmet grab-and-go options to Oxbow Public Market. myccasa.com.

Art lovers should take a leisurely stroll along the Riverfront’s new ArtWalk exhibition. Ten California artists have created river-themed sculptures, which are installed along First Street and Main.

Finally, Napa developer George Altamura spent the past decade (and a few million dollars) restoring the spectacular, 850-seat Uptown Theatre concert hall. Blues legend B.B. King (October 31) and country stars Rosanne Cash (November 13) and Clint Black (December 16) are the next big acts to roll into town. uptowntheatrenapa.com.
