Cheap Eats: Citra Grill
Choose your skewer, enjoy with sides and leave with dessert.
After many years in front of a computer in Silicon Valley, Ramin Behtash needed a change. We’re glad he did. The concept for his new Citra Grill may be fast food, but the healthy fare is a far cry from the Golden Arches. The food comes out fast but fresh, with quality ingredients—filet mignon, salmon, and veggies—prepared simply, and grilled with olive oil. Behtash plans to borrow another page from the fast-food book: He hopes to expand to additional locations in the next few years.
Mix and Match: Choose your grilled skewer—we liked tender halibut, moist chicken, and fresh vegetables—from a list of six options ($5.45–$9.95 for one, $8.95–$13.95 for two).
Would You Like Sides With That?: Skewers are served on pitalike bread fresh from the wood-burning oven, along with three sides: crunchy cabbage, marinated cucumbers and cherry tomatoes, and dill potato salad.
Sweet Tooth: A tempting dessert case features tiny cake pops, truffles, cheesecake bites, and an ice cream “lollicone” to balance out your überhealthy meal.
