Q: When did you decide to tackle your weight once and for all?
A: I was shopping and had on this really tight pair of jeans. I tried on some boots and couldn’t bend over to zip them. I had to ask my boyfriend to help me. He was sweet about it, but I was so embarrassed.
Q: What was your strategy?
A: I had tried so many bad diets. Finally, I decided to educate myself and focus on real food. I shopped the perimeter of the supermarket and cooked with fruits, vegetables, meats—nothing in a box or a jar—and the pounds dropped off.
Q: Is it hard to maintain with twin girls?
A: I gained 60 pounds when I was pregnant, and I had a hard time losing weight afterward because I was busy and tired. But I adjusted: Instead of making food
every day, I’d prep for the next three days.
Q: How did the Instagram thing start?
A: I posted photos of my meals, and people really responded. I was looking for a way to stay at home with my kids full-time, so I quit my job and devoted myself to my website and Instagram.
Q: Do you get recognized in public?
A: My twins more so than me. I include them in a lot of photos. But they love the attention: They think they’re famous!
