Celebrate National Doughnut Day

Celebrate with a classic treat from Livermore’s longest-running doughnut shop.

Published:

Every night at 10 p.m., Donut Wheel owner Kim Taing starts his day. While Livermore sleeps, Taing works into the early morning to prepare fresh doughnuts for bleary-eyed Tri-Valley residents.

To celebrate National Doughnut Day on November 5, grab a classic maple raised doughnut, or go adventurous with a doughnut ice-cream sandwich.

You’ll have plenty of time to celebrate: Donut Wheel never closes, and it has been that way since 1988, when Taing bought the shop.

What makes his doughnuts the best?

“When I make the doughnuts myself: good. When someone else makes them: no good,” he says. “I have a secret recipe.”

2017 First St., Livermore, (925) 447-8190, open daily.
