There’s nothing ho-hum about this zesty Italian bistro, and with the recent addition of executive chef Daniele Carsano, the house-made fare never tasted so buono. The menu changes frequently, but you’ll always find fresh pasta (the wild mushroom tagliatelle was a recent crowd-pleaser) as well as tender grilled fish and roasted meat dishes, such as a juicy chicken paillard served with arugula and cherry tomatoes. Start with a soul-satisfying soup like the vegetarian chickpea or the fun suppli al telefono (rice balls stuffed with mozzarella). The octopus with potatoes is an Italian delicacy, and don’t leave without a taste of the sweet and savory panna cotta with aged balsamic. Or take a piece of 54 Mint home: to-go offerings include daily pantry items (imported Italian cheeses, briny olives, honey, focaccia and peasant bread) as well as trays of lasagna and cannelloni. Lunch Tues.–Fri., dinner Tues.–Sun.
