Before entering Dublin's Waterford complex, you can smell what's cooking at Armadillo Willy's. The only East Bay location of this small, casual South Bay chain churns out Texas-style ribs, brisket, chicken, and sausage in Texas-size portions. All entrées come with a choice of sides-baked beans, peanut slaw, potato salad, jambalaya rice, green salad, corn muffin, or Texas toast-and either hot or mild barbecue sauce. One combination plate, the $52.99 Belly Buster, boasts six types of barbecued meats and all the trimmings. As the menu states, it "serves four BBQ lovers or one NFL lineman." Unfortunately, with all this quantity, the quality can be spotty. On a recent visit, the chopped chicken was served nearly cold, and the jambalaya lacked spice. Lunch and dinner daily.
