This prominent downtown restaurant offers a classic interpretation of Italy wrapped in the best of two worlds: a most inviting patio, complete with a fire pit and a devoted bar, and a dining room where a stately backdrop melts away when dining with a partner or family style. Incontro’s creative cocktails and traditional Italian menu seem to only get better. A zippy warm potato-and-octopus appetizer was at once comforting and compelling, while Incontro’s oversized lamb rack chops were bolstered with an assertive mint pesto. Start with arincine—fried risotto balls that are easy to share—and finish with a Gorgonzola, pear, and candied walnut pizza drizzled with honey—also easily split, and which doubles as dessert. Lunch Thurs.–Sat., dinner Tues.–Sun., brunch Sun.
