This trattoria is an Orinda treasure: simple, well-made Italian fare right across the street from the movie theater. With its copper-topped bar and cozy wood-burning oven, it's the perfect romantic date spot; but you¹ll also find plenty of families there‹some who have been loyal customers since the place opened in 1995. We can see why they keep coming back. We loved the zippy linguine with clams, which glistened in a light, lemony sauce made with fresh garlic. Pizzas here re a delight, too, because the kitchen carefully makes the yeasty, chewy, lightly sweet dough from scratch. Toppings range from the classics (fennel sausage with wild mushrooms) to the Californian (shredded tequila-marinated chicken, salsa verde, avocado, and cilantro). The waitstaff consists of local youngsters working hard. Dinner daily.
