Michele DuRye and Quan Du closed down their popular Vietnamese-influenced Élevé and opened a more casual restaurant in its space, with an ever-evolving menu. On our visit during Library’s soft opening, the California-American inspired dishes had firepower. Crab cakes were spiked with cayenne; a beet and goat cheese salad burst with fresh mint; and a brush of rosemary honey bolstered the fried chicken and ethereal waffles. It’s certainly a complete concept change from Élevé, but it’s working. Library’s handsome and more open dining room—not to mention the bar, offering revamped yet still classically inspired cocktails—attracts a spirited crowd. Dinner Tues.–Sun.
