We knew Pacific Catch was no ordinary chain restaurant when our trio of poke arrived. The pristine cubes of sesame-flecked ahi, delicate cured salmon with avocado, and spicy bites of seared albacore had the freshness, complexity, and caliber one might expect from a top San Francisco restaurant. We certainly felt in the know while dining at a contemporary communal table in a packed restaurant with a lively bar. Expertly marked grilled swordfish and lightning-hot fish and chips (served on faux vintage Honolulu newsprint) garnered not-so-furtive glances from our tablemates, who were digging into the menu’s casual rice bowls, seafood salads, and sandwiches. There are plenty of dining options at Persimmon Place, a mall anchored by Whole Foods. So take your time, and look around. But it’s a good bet Pacific is your best catch. Lunch and dinner daily.
