The sushi bar at this boxy restaurant may be small, but it turns out some big flavors. The kani nigiri is a treat with long pink shards of tender crabmeat, and the maguro nigiri boasts a generous slab of fresh tuna. Maki, both traditional and creative (as in the deep-fried Godzilla roll), are tightly assembled and tasty. Don¹t miss the crisp, well-seasoned soft-shell crab salad and hard-to-find beef sukiyaki, a sweet, clear beef broth loaded with thick, clear noodles, silky tofu, and deeply flavored shiitake mushrooms. The menu also includes donburi, a homey Japanese rice dish that not many area restaurants offer. Try the classic katsudon donburi topped with crispy slices of fried pork cutlet, sautéed onions, vegetables, and egg. Lunch Tues.Fri., dinner Tues.Sun.
