Located in a small plaza next to Chevalier, this new family-style sushi bar/ramen house is a welcome addition to Lafayette. Enter the serenely peaceful setting, cool with slate floors and dark laquered tables, to enjoy attentive service and an interesting, varied menu. After a complimentary bowl of everyone’s favorite, edamame soybeans, dig into Tao’s wide selection of delicious ramen bowls. Served either as soup or stir-fried noodles, the ramen comes piled in generous portions, with ingredients so authentic (menma, narruto, shoyu, chashu), you’ll be consulting your Japanese food terms app. We particularly loved the curry beef ramen with mapo tofu and green onion. Also worth a taste are the crispy yakitori (teriyaki grilled items) and deep-fried tempura, as well as an impressive lineup of sushi rolls and nigiri. For picky eaters, Tao even serves burgers and fries. Lunch and dinner daily.
