Yiping (pronounced e-ping) means “number one quality” in Mandarin, and true to its name, this restaurant offers some of the best Chinese food to come to the Crow Canyon area in a long time. While the menu sometimes tries to go fusion, with peanut dipping sauces (Southeast Asia) and teriyaki chicken (Japan), the strength here is mainland Chinese: Mongolian beef, orange chicken, garlic pea shoots, wok-fried string beans. There is a bit of vegetarian emphasis on the refreshingly small menu, and with good reason: Ingredients are market fresh and often organic. Eggplant may be at its zenith here: Don’t miss the stuffed crispy eggplant appetizer or the eggplant in Sichuan spicy sauce. Lunch and dinner daily.
