Pick Your Poison
With 50 martinis to choose from, you're bound to find one that you love.
Shaken or stirred? At Danville’s Martini Sky, it’s not quite that simple. The sleek new cocktail and small-plates lounge, formerly Patrick David’s, boasts 50 different martinis.
We all know that the only true martini is the restaurant’s Classic: gin and dry vermouth served up with an olive. But the house-made fruit purees and fresh muddled fruits and herbs give plenty of reasons to stray into new territory.
Try the Flower Child (Stoli Strasberi vodka, muddled mint and basil, and strawberry puree, garnished with a hibiscus flower), if your taste trends toward sweet; or the Shapiro (Stoli jalapeño-flavored vodka, muddled jalapeños, basil, and white cranberry juice), if you’re craving a spicy kick.
On Sundays and Mondays, it’s half-off martinis. On Tini Tuesdays, sample $2 martini shots. And don’t worry, that last drink didn’t have you seeing things: East Bay rap titan E-40 has been known to come in and sip the bar’s signature libations.
