The fall TV season is heating up, and a trio of shows with local connections has caught our attention.

Mondays at 10 p.m.

TNT series King & Maxwell features Berkeley High alum Rebecca Romijn as a former Secret Service agent working as a freelance investigator with her partner (The Closer’s Jon Tenney).
DVR it if you: Enjoy CSI–style procedural shows peppered with Moonlighting banter.

Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m.

Andy Samberg, also a Berkeley High alum, plays a wacky detective in a screwy police station on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, premiering September 17 on Fox.
DVR it if you:  Always thought The Wire should have been a sitcom.

Thursdays at 10 p.m.

Tune in September 26 to see the craftsman bungalows and artisan coffee shops of “Berkeley” on Parenthood. NBC’s drama is set in the Bay Area but filmed in L.A. Maybe the show’s hometown should be called Burbankley?
DVR it if you: Think Modern Family would be better as a drama.
