The New East Bay Open Studios Begins Friday, May 25 and Features Over 190 Participating Artists in 17 Cities   For over 40 years, the East Bay Open Studios has been a wonderful opportunity for art lovers in the Bay Area to connect with artists all over the East Bay. These free self-guided tours of artist studios and exhibition spaces give the public a unique opportunity to have direct experiences with the artists and to purchase artwork directly from them.   The mission of the East Bay Open Studios is to connect art collectors and art lovers, in and around the entire Bay Area, directly with artists in the East Bay and to promote personal interaction between the participating artists and the public. The event offers an interactive and inspiring way for art collectors and enthusiasts to experience unique one-on-one connections with local artists by visiting them on self-guided tours. The public can visit artists working in visual mediums including, but not limited to, drawing, print making, fiber art, photography, digital art, mixed media, ceramics, painting, wood working, jewelry, installation art, illustration, sculpture, collage and more. Artists will open their studios and exhibition spaces to the public on the weekends of June 2/3, as well as June 9/10. All artists participate in Weekend 1 and some will also be opened during Weekend 2. The public can visit artists in 17 East Bay cities during the event: Pinole, El Sobrante, Richmond, El Cerrito, Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, Oakland, Alameda, Rockridge, Piedmont, San Leandro, Martinez, Concord, Danville, Pleasanton, and Livermore. To kick off the event, art lovers are invited to the Opening Celebration/Preview Exhibition.   Opening Celebration/Preview Exhibition: Friday, May 25 from 6 pm - 9 pm. Free Event.

Guests are invited to join over 100 of the participating artists at the Opening Celebration/Preview Exhibition, which is being held at the beautiful, historical, Scottish Rite Center, in Oakland. Guests can enjoy live music, preview a few pieces of the artists' work, connect with the artists in person and pick up copies of the guidebook containing artist directories and maps.   Weekend 1 of Open Studios: Saturday, June 2 and 3  •  11 am – 6 pm
at various artist studios and exhibition spaces. All participating artist are open. Free for the public. Weekend 2 of Open Studios: Saturday, June 9 and 10  •  11 am – 6 pm 
at various artist studios and exhibition spaces. Some participating artists are open. Free for the public. During the open studio portion of the event, the public is invited, for free, into the studios and exhibition spaces of the artists where they can connect intimately with the artists themselves, ask questions, learn about their inspirations and techniques, in some cases watch demonstrations and enjoy refreshments, and purchase artwork directly from them. 100% of the art sales benefit the artists directly.    View artist directories online to help design your tours.
