Making Overtures

The Contra Costa Chamber Orchestra will present Making Overtures, the opening concert of their 2017-18 season, 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 7, at the El Campanile Theater in Antioch. The program showcases overtures from works by Gluck and Mozart, to early 19th century works by Beethoven, Rossini, Schubert. Glinka and Offenbach, and a modern overture by Spanish film composer Oscar Navarro.

Most of the overtures on the concert program have become popular favorites in the classical music world - including Marriage of Figaro (Mozart), La Gazza Ladra-The Thieving Magpie (Rossini), Egmont (Beethoven), Rosamunde (Schubert), Russlan and Ludmilla (Glinka), and La Belle Helene (Offenbach).

$15 adult, $12 youth.
