Onstage Repertory Theatre Company presents OFF THE SHELF AND ON STAGE, May 19 - June 24, 2017, a festival of one-acts, many from local playwrights from Martinez, Concord, Clayton, Pleasant Hill and Rossmoor and are directed by Helen Means, Kim Doppe, Randy Anger, Bob Musgrave, and playwrights Dean Engle and C.C. Cardin.
BLOCK ONE: May 19 thru May 27 (not recommended for kids)
“Vincent” by J.D. Blair (very funny farce about a painter who has an unusual way of mixing colors)
“Two Queens” by C.C. Cardin (a funny short story about two sets of queens)
“Dear John” by C.C. Cardin (humorous short play involves the relationship of a husband and wife getting what each one wants)
“The Dream” by Alan Cunningham (A coming to terms story of a man accepting what has happened to him.)
“Sharon Nicolletti” (a dramatic monologue about life)
BLOCK TWO: June 1 thru June 10 (not recommended for kids)
“The Martini” by Leon Atkinson (the story of the martini)
“Real Fun” by Dean Engle (a tale of choice between life and death)
“Jenny Gets Her Wheels On” by Gary Carr (the story of an injured musical theatre ingénue who must find a new way of using her talent)
“Tee Vee” by Stacey Reeves (a stand-up comedy routine)
BLOCK THREE: June 16 thru June 24 (Kid friendly)
“The Last Piano Lesson” by Gretchen Givens (the story of a piano student and her teacher)
“Eat A Bug” by C.C. Cardin (funny look at the antics of childhood)
“Fourteen” by Alice Gerstenberg (a hilarious attempt at organizing a dinner party)
“Kisses” by Mark Hinds (a love story between childhood friends)
Performances of OFF THE SHELF AND ON STAGE are May 19 – June 24, 2017 at the Martinez Campbell Theatre, 636 Ward St. in Martinez. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Tickets at the door are $16 and may be reserved by calling (925) 518-3277. Bargain Night Thursdays, all tickets $12. Festival Pass for all three blocks is $40.
