The owners of a half-acre lot next to their home in Pleasanton that backs up to a golf course created an extraordinary space that has become their ultimate entertainment center—the clubhouse. The clubhouse’s interior space opens up to a covered patio via two pocket doors and three folding doors. This was a design and engineering feat not easily accomplished given the height restriction.

The interior of the clubhouse is tiled with ceramic wood-simulated tile
flooring and Canadian hemlock wood
ceilings adorned with exposed beams.
The great room walls are virtually all
glass with the exception of the back of
the bar. Entertaining at the clubhouse would not be complete without the full working kitchen, which has ample room for a built-in fridge, Wolf range/oven, and 10-foot island with lighted lily white marble slabs supporting a leathered
Taj Mahal quartzite countertop.

The clubhouse also has two full baths designed with a natural, elegant spa look. The first bathroom features a five-foot custom-designed trough sink made from solid quartz with no seams. The vanity
wall is dolomite marble, which flows into the floor’s herringbone pattern of tile-simulated wood. The shower walls continue the soothing-looking dolomite marble subway tile, which then transitions to a herringbone marble pan with a three-foot linear drain. The second bathroom includes a seven-foot two-sink vanity with
a marble top and a freestanding soaker tub.
The shower utilizes dolomite marble as well, but is enhanced with the use of
limestone for the shower pan and accents on the top half of the shower.

In all, the owner’s backyard space includes two full bathrooms, one full kitchen, and two high-end outdoor
kitchens with an additional pizza oven and parking for 15 guests. The owners can now easily accommodate more than 50 people for entertainment, recreation, and fine dining in the clubhouse.
